Mold Inspection Starts With the Moisture Source
A useful mold inspection does more than look for discoloration. The first priority is finding the moisture that allowed growth to develop: a plumbing leak, roof opening, air-conditioning condensation, high indoor humidity, or water left behind after a loss. Dri-Tex documents visible conditions and checks surrounding materials with moisture-detection tools so the repair plan addresses both the growth and its cause.
Some Texas projects require a separate licensed mold assessment before remediation begins. When sampling or a formal protocol is appropriate, we explain the next step and coordinate with qualified assessors or laboratories rather than presenting a visual opinion as a laboratory result.
When Mold Testing Is Useful
Testing can help when growth is hidden, occupants need documentation, the affected area is disputed, or post-remediation clearance is required. It is not automatically necessary when visible growth and the moisture source are already clear. A qualified assessor decides what samples are appropriate and interprets the results in context; a single air sample should not replace a building and moisture investigation.
Containment, Removal and HEPA Cleaning
Professional remediation separates the work area from occupied rooms, controls airflow, and removes contaminated porous materials according to the project protocol. Crews use HEPA-filtered equipment and detailed surface cleaning to reduce settled particles. Materials that can be safely cleaned are treated in place; drywall, insulation, carpet pad, or other porous materials that cannot be restored are removed in a controlled manner.
The goal is source removal, not covering stains with paint or relying on fogging alone. Products may support cleaning, but they do not replace physical removal of damaged material and correction of the moisture problem.
Drying, Clearance and Reconstruction
Remediation cannot remain successful if framing, subfloors, or wall cavities stay damp. Dri-Tex verifies drying progress and corrects the water source before affected spaces are closed. When a project calls for independent clearance, the assessor performs the post-remediation evaluation. After the area is cleared and dry, our reconstruction team can replace drywall, texture, paint, trim, flooring, cabinets, and other finishes under one coordinated scope.

Is a mold inspection the same as mold testing?
No. An inspection evaluates the building, moisture source and visible conditions. Testing collects samples for laboratory analysis when documentation or additional information is needed.
Can mold be removed without fixing the leak?
No lasting remediation plan should ignore the moisture source. Leaks, condensation or humidity problems must be corrected and wet materials dried.
Do you use containment during remediation?
Containment and controlled airflow are used when the scope requires them to keep dust and particles from spreading into unaffected rooms.
What happens after contaminated material is removed?
The area is HEPA cleaned, dried and evaluated. When required, an independent assessor performs clearance before reconstruction begins.
